Since age 3, athletics have been a monumental part of Micaela’s life. Growing up, she would often go straight from school to soccer practice and then afterwards, would head immediately to rehearsal to end the night. The balance between being an athlete and performer is a unique trait that Micaela had to learn early on. In order to balance education, sports, theatre, as well as other extracurriculars, she had to work extra hard in all avenues in order to maintain proficiency in each. Elements of sports and performing in the arts overlapped in the sense that both take extreme determination and practice. Through athletics, Micaela learned that practice doesn't make perfect- but that perfect practice makes perfect. Athletics gave her thick skin, the ability to persevere in the face of adversity, and how good sportsmanship can make or break a person's character. She was the captain of her collegiate soccer team for two years and in 2018, she was featured in ESPN’s Top Ten Plays of the Week in the NCAA tournament. While soccer is her main asset, Micaela is also an avid runner, weight lifter, personal trainer, dancer, hiker, swimmer, and yogi. She continues her love of sports through coaching youth and high school soccer in her free time.
